Atta Halwa


  • 1 cup (whole wheat flour)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup ghee


  1. In a deep, heavy based sauce pan, melt the ghee add the whole wheat flour and stir fry.
  2. At the same time, place the water and the sugar in another pan, to dissolve the sugar and keep on simmer, till required.
  3. Stir-fry till the base of the pan looks glossy and the flour does not stick together as much.
  4. Add the sugar solution stirring all the time and bring to a boil, then simmer till the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Serve hot.

Maida Halwa


  • Maida (All purpose flour) - 2cups
  • Sugar - 3 cups
  • Ghee - 1 cup
  • Orange colour - few drops
  • Cashew Nuts - 10 Nos
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 teaspoon


  1. Add enough water to Maida and make a thin batter without any lumps. Add the colour and stir well. Keep aside.
  2. Add half cup water to the sugar and bring it to boil. Allow to cook till it reaches one thread consistency. Now slowly pour the maida batter and stir continuously keeping it on low flame. When it starts thickening, add ghee little by little while stirring the halwa. Stir continuously till it leaves the sides of the vessel. Add cardamom powder and fried cashew nuts. Mix well.
  3. Tranfer it to a greased plate and cut it into squares.
  4. Note: If you want more chewy halwa, then increase the sugar quantity to 4 cups.

Atta Burfis

For this simple recipe, you will need:

  • 1 cup Jeevan Shakti Atta
  • ½ cup grated gur (jaggery)
  • ½ cup ghee
  • ½ tbsp dry ginger powder
  • ½ tbsp pipramool powder


  1. In a pan, heat ghee and add Jeevan Shakti Atta. Roast atta till it turns a nice brown colour.
  2. Turn off the flame and add gur to the mixture. Mix well.
  3. Let burfi cool on a plate, cut into desired shapes!

Atta Biscuits Recipe Ingredients

  • 250 gm atta
  • 125 gm powdered sugar or gur ki shakkar
  • 150 gm chilled butter
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

Atta Biscuits Recipe Procedure:

Mix atta, sugar and spice in a bowl. With your fingertips, rub in diced butter into the flour. When the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, knead it into soft dough.

  • Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Wrap the dough in a paper and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Roll on a floured surface till 1/8" thick. Cut and arrange on a baking tray. Chill for ten minutes.
  • Bake in a pre-heated oven at 170 degree C for ten minutes or until golden.
